Beginner Ballet
Ages 18+
At Sonoran Ballet Academy, we believe ballet is for everyone. Whether you've never taken a ballet class before or you're returning after years away from the studio, our Adult Beginner Ballet class is designed with you in mind.
This class introduces the fundamentals of classical ballet. Through barre work and an introduction to center work, you'll develop strength, flexibility, coordination, balance, and confidence while learning proper technique. Adults often learn concepts quickly, and because ballet is built on practice and repetition, your first class is an introduction to structure, terminology, and expectations of a traditional ballet class. As you continue your training, those foundations become familiar, allowing you to grow in both skill and artistry.
No prior dance experience is necessary - just a willingness to learn, move, and enjoy the journey. Whether your goal is fitness, personal growth, or fulfilling a lifelong dream of dancing, we're excited to welcome you to the barre.
Schedule:
Tuesday & Thursday, 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.

Intermediate Ballet
Ages 18+
Our Adult Intermediate Ballet class is designed for dancers who already have a foundation in ballet and are looking to maintain and/or continue their training.
This class is ideal for our long-time adult dancers who have trained for many years and prefer a slower paced class that is less physically demanding while still allowing them to apply technique, musicality, and artistry they've developed through years of practice. Each class includes a full ballet barre, center work, across-the-floor combinations, and optional allegro (jumps), providing a complete ballet experience at a comfortable pace.
For dancers wishing to move on from our Adult Beginner Ballet class, we are now offering an evening transition class that will serve as the next step in your training. As confidence and technique continue to grow, this class helps bridge the gap to our Adult Intermediate/Advanced class by introducing more challenging steps, combinations and encouraging greater strength, coordination and artistry.
Schedule:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 10:00 - 11:30 a.m.
Transition Class - Wednesday, 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.

Intermediate/Advanced Ballet & Pointe
Ages 18+
Our Adult Intermediate/Advanced Ballet class is designed for experienced dancers who are ready to challenge themselves both technically and artistically. Building upon a strong foundation of classical ballet, this class features more complex combinations, faster tempos, and physically demanding exercises that develop strength, precision, musicality and endurance.
At SBA, we believe Adult Dancers deserve to be challenged. We teach this class with the same high standards and artistic approach as our upper-level student program, giving adult dancers meaningful goals to work toward fostering continued growth and personal accomplishment. You'll be encouraged to step outside your comfort zone, refine your technique, and discover what you are truly capable of. We strive to make sure the result of each class is both demanding and deeply rewarding, leaving you feeling accomplished, energized, and inspired.
*Because of the pace and complexity of this class, dancers should have a solid understanding of ballet technique beyond the fundamentals and be physically prepared to execute more advanced combinations safely and confidently.
Adult Dancers enrolled in our Inter/Adv Ballet class are also invited to participate in our Adult Pointe class. Whether you've danced en pointe before and are looking to return, or you've always dreamed of dancing en pointe, this class provides a pathway to achieve that goal.
For dancers new to pointe work, several years of consistent training in an Adult Inter/Adv class are recommended before beginning pointe. This foundation is essential for developing the strength, technique, alignment, and body awareness necessary to train safely and reduce the risk of injury. We believe dancing en pointe is an attainable goal for dedicated adult dancers, and we're committed to helping you reach it through proper preparation, patient progression, and professional instruction.
Schedule:
Monday, 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.
Tuesday & Thursday, 10:00 - 11:30 a.m.
Friday, 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Pointe: 7:45 - 8:30 p.m.
